Overview
A prestigious school in Bangkok where their students are "prided" as good and "clean" students are not who they seem to be.
The plot is centered around Teacher Nalin, an alumna of said school who was hired to teach French with the condition that she commit herself to catching any inappropriate activities from students.
Turns out she has a history of her own that lets her close an eye to some of the things she sees...
Thoughts
- Only the first 6 episodes have been up (there should be a second one, but I'm unsure when that's happening), but the quality is definitely one of the better ones in the GL space. This is what Euphoria wished it was. Scandal-filled, sensual, and touching on taboo topics whilst keeping the plot on-track [1], especially considering this is based in Thailand.
- Some examples of the topics touched on: inappropriate teacher-student relationships, prostitution of minors, abusive parents, minors creating pornographic content, sexual relationships on school grounds
- The cinematography is top-tier, comparable to the likes of ClaireBell, but the music, though fitting, is a tad too dramatic for my tastes.
- I certainly think this can be one of the top-tier dramas of the year, provided the quality of the second half of the show is at least similar.
Random notes as I watched:
- The actress Ploy, looks very similar to Love Design's Supassra Thanachat
- The actress Opal, looks very similar to Us the Series's Emi Thasorn
- Not safe to watch with your family, fairly explicit right from the 1st episode and continues on that way throughout the entire series
Something that I think the first season of Euphoria did fairly well but it just went downhill ever since. ↩︎
